happy days

tgif and happy friday the 13th to you all. :)
i couldn't really get a good photo of the wedding ceremony at sylvia and jason's wedding back in october because of that guy's head in front of me. he's in every single picture but i still wanted to share what the ceremony looked like at the calamigos ranch in malibu. as you can tell it was beautifully set up and arranged and everything was just perfect. the view from the small and cozy seating area was really breathtaking especially when you look at that garland overhead.
sylvia is my friend from back in the bakery days. so that would make us friends since back in 1988 i think. as luck would have it, our bakery was always employed with really good looking asian gals (except me). of course we weren't running a beetlenut operation or anything :p but it just so happens that was the case where we would end up getting a lot of male customers who wanted to ask these girls out on dates. i would have to say that our bakery saw its share of flower bearing suitors in our days. sylvia is one of those gals who has that quintessential natural beauty. very classic, very radiant. and of course what really makes her such a hot commodity is the fact that she's such a great friend and so very very kind. i'm really happy for her as that she's found her soulmate in jason. i want to wish them all the best. and no, jason wasn't one of the danish eaters from back in the bakery days.
i don't ever recall having as much fun at a wedding as i had at sylvia and jason's. i guess it was the fact that i got to know quite bit of the female guests prior to the wedding when we had our get togethers. and that made for quite a good time especially when you see faces you know, people you are familiar with and overall, it's just a big ole celebration, kool n the gang style. one of my other really good gal pals at the wedding was j. she's another bakery gal as well and that's another friendship that has held its weight thru the years. j is actually sylvia's best friend and maid of honor at the wedding. i'm especially happy for j because she just got engaged to j (who is hands down, one of the nicest guys i've ever met).
[whispering] because anyone who can tolerate j's firestorm of emotions and at times crazy temper deserves an A+ in my book. hahaha.
i'm really looking forward to their wedding next fall since a big part of friendships is to grow old together and to partake in each other's happiness and sadness as well. so congrats to j and j on your engagement. i couldn't be happier for them. and i think he's an especially swell guy since he reads my site. haha. i'm so fuckin lame.
so i'm slowly trying to backtrack onto all these things that i haven't had an opportunity to share with you ever since my computer went down. there's probably a ton of other good things to share and a lot of topics that have been floating around in my mind to put down as well. i ought to start keeping a mini-notebook with me again, like i used to back when i first started the site. and who would ever have thought that this wasn't just a passing whim and that i've been keeping up with this for so long. even i'm amazed i'm still around, albeit a lot more low key now.
