let the sunshine in
march 14, 2005

there are moments when i'm taking photos for this site that i realize that i don't take too many of myself outdoors. i have plenty of material from the webcam at night or in the bathroom facing the mirror but outdoors is so rare. today was one of those gorgeous days where the breeze blew lightly while the sun shone down. it's a nice welcome after all that rain we had in recent months.
i actually have on green eyeshadow above but you can't see it that well. of course it was daytime and i didn't want to end up looking like i was in drag either. so i went kinda light on that. it' in photos that are so up close that you notice how gigantic one's pores are. :p

driving around LA with the sunroof opened and the sun filtering in is one of those little joys in life. perhaps the ONLY thing i like about LA is the decent weather during the winter months. oh and the food in koreatown of course. :) and oh yeah, the great sushi too. and cheap vietnamese food as well.

i finally decided after 2 months of dance lessons to buy actual dancing shoes. my instructor gave me the name of a place in the very industrial warehouse area of el monte. she says that the prices are good and the style are plentiful. now, i've never ever bought a pair of dance shoes before so i didn't know what to expect. all i know is that at my dance school, many of the women wear these strappy tan satin ones but i would prefer something leather and not tan either.
the thing about dancing shoes is that they bend so nicely and are SO soft and malleable. the soles unfortunately are suede/leather and cannot be worn outside of the ballroom floor. as i perused around the warehouse, they had heels in all heights and everything was SO strappy! i wasn't sure how i feel about wearing strappy shoes since i don't wear heels enough as it is. so i figured a closed toe, non strappy basic heel would be best. i didn't want to get black either for some reason and satin would get really messed up if my partners keep on stepping on my feet. :p
anyway, i'm sporting a copper color here. a little wild for me really. :p
currently listening to: dave koz, you are me and i am you
