babies a + e
february 27, 2006

now that i am nearly back to normal after 2 months of being sick, i went to visit J+J today to see their brand new addition to the family: baby aidan. when i arrived, they were giving him a bath and so i got to see these two new parents in action. it's very interesting to see your once child-free friends being parents. she's definitely not the 16 year old that i first met many moons ago.

after getting some good tips from my luncheon yesterday, i brought my rebel for the visit and took about 150 shots. i couldn't help it. that camera makes you want to just not let go of it. it's like i'm possessed when i'm taking photos with that thing.
i was happy to capture some decent shots out of that flurry of 150 shots. i think the new parents are really happy that i'm taking the time out to capture these family moments for them. it's great practice for me and i enjoyed every bit of it. plus they seem to be salivating after my new camera now. =:o

both J+J are really enjoying parenthood. they both have been wanting a baby ever since getting married in 2002. and now they have baby aidan, who is the splitting image of his dad. BUT he has his mom's temper and grouchy disposition (they said this, not me!). if it was the other way around, it would be much easier for both parents i think.
baby aidan is only a month and a half right now so he's still kinda floppy and fragile. i'm sure when he gets older, it will be much more fun to play with him.

later on in the afternoon, J's best friend S came with her baby and husband as well. i haven't seen baby evan since he was 2 months old and now he is nearly 4.5 months and a whopping buddha-like 18 pounds. O.o
he is simply adorable and you just want to gnaw on every limb and cheek! it's impossible to keep your hands off of this guy!

baby evan also got the paternal good looks as well from his dad (another) J.

whenever i think of J + S, this is how i picture them. even though i can still remember them as young girls, they are always together and glued at the hip. in many ways, they are like oil and water/night and day. they are so different yet balance one another so well. these best friends really are what all best friends should be like. i'm just glad that i can be one of their third wheel best friends from time to time. they are indeed such good friends to me even after 18 years!

i wanted to do a simple family portrait of S, J and E. you can really see baby evan's similarities to his dad here. they are a great looking family, that's for sure. these two babies i think will end up being best friends. they don't have a choice really since their moms are always together. :)
