makeup, michael & meal
february 28, 2006

how insensitive of me to forget to share the color palette of the smashbox lipgloss set that i got a couple days ago! where did my mind go?! i used to remember to display everything for all you makeup mavens out there. this particular set is called smashing stage 2 and i'm happy to report that all of the colors are very wearable.
a lot of people, especially TGILW, do not understand my obsession
interest with makeup. i have to say that i'm not even as into makeup
as i once was but i still look occasionally to what's new on the market. i
don't purchase as much anymore since i don't wear as much. ever since getting
sick earlier this year, i haven't worn as much and hence, got used to it and
loved how i can rub my eyes anytime i want without fear of looking like a
raccoon.
but even though i've cut down on my typical makeup routine, i can't forego the lipgloss. that's one of those things i will add to my "if i was on a deserted island and could only bring 10 things" list.
what can i say? i'm still somewhat of a girly girl at heart.

please meet michael.
he's what you would call an amigurumi in japanese. it's kind of the latest rage in crocheting. by using yarn and a crochet hook, talented people like thalia have created these wonderful little companions! i adopted michael from the avocadolite farm of singapore. and i absolutely adore him.
i'm planning on taking with me to my different adventures around los angeles. maybe he'll be at the kodak theatre one day and then south coast plaza the next. or maybe hanging out next to a bowl of pho. :p
look for him in future entries. i just hope that i won't get him dirty or worse yet, snag him! :O

TGILW took me out for a pre-birthday celebration tonight. we hit our usual japanese restaurant for some grub but it was really below par for some reason. i was really disappointed but had to take some food shots anyway with the new camera. gotta test it out with my favorite test subjects. :p

i'm not really sure what you readers find appetizing: the macro shots of food with a certain aesthetic appeal or the old ones i did which are full shots of the entire dish in one frame. let me know your thoughts in the aiyahblog section's comments. i'd appreciate your input. i personally though prefer the macro shots of food.

coworker: are you excited about tomorrow?
me: why? um...it's ash wednesday?
coworker: no, i mean your birthday, are you excited?
me: why would i be excited about turning 36?
coworker: because you still look 25.
