smooth and nubbly

those who really know me, will know that i'm a stationary fiend. meaning, i'm obsessed with good writing pens and fine stationary paper. i'm one of those girls who kinda go crazy in those japanese bookstores with the latest and greatest writing tools. and don't get me started about fine heavy weight card stock stationary either. i absolutely go nuts for them. my favorite type of stationary would be those correspondence cards. for those who don't know, they are those 1 sided flat notecards that do not open up. i've been meaning to get some personalized stationary for awhile but i still have a box of crane's personalized stationary that i haven't finished using yet.
i also got this FAB notecard set for xmas from a lovely friend! crane & co no less!! she knows me well. although the art of writing hand written notes is slowly going into extinction due to email, it's still the best way to receive some sort of correspondence. the old fashioned way, in the mail. with actual writing and to see the sender's care in the whole packaging.
i have to admit too that the whole lot of stationary i have now don't get used as much either anymore due to the aforementioned reason but i still try to revive the old traditions from time to time. sometimes i even forget what my handwriting looks like anymore. i think it's always a tahoma, verdana, georgia or century gothic now.

i've been neglectful of my knitting lately. since i didn't do any during the holidays, i picked up the craft again recently just to get back into the groove. i got this yarn over a year ago and have been wanting to make something for my mom. she likes a lot of colors and is kinda a girly-girl (according to what my friends say). i obviously did not get that trait from her. it's kinda neutral as well due to its gray/dirty white background color. trust me, it looks better than it sounds.

at times when i look at it, it's almost like a scarf with colorful mold growing or fungi growing on it. yes, another attractive feature to sell this scarf. but seriously, i actually like it myself.
berroco medley yarn

i have to share this pic. when i placed the scarf down to take photos of on my bed, snowbie walked over and plopped herself down nice and comfy to make sure i pay attention to her more than that long wooly thing. the weird thing was, she planted herself down and looked the other way (not facing me) and made sure her butt was coming into contact with the aforementioned nubbly wool.
