appreciation

i admit it, i don't go check on my po box very much these days. i used to though! all the time! but only to find that empty po box waiting for me all hollow and lonely. so i got kind of tired of checking on nothing and so i haven't been for about 1 month. it's really poor manners of me.
but i went yesterday and was so surprised to not only find a care package & letter from a reader but also a really nice card from another reader. i was *so* touched by the words they wrote, it left me quite...speechless.
i have to say......this whole online journaling thing is sometimes....lonely. i sit here, write, post photos, upload my entry and go back to restocking toilet paper underneath the cabinet sink or whatever exciting thing i was doing at the time. then i come back and do the same thing the next day, and the next and the next. and before you know it, it's been over 6 years of this pattern.
but along the way i wonder to myself "who is still reading this shit?" i mean, i do but aside from me, i lead a really quiet existence of interaction with you all out there. aside from the aiyahblog comments, i occasionally get random emails from time to time. i always chuckle when most people start off writing "i never wrote you before because i know how busy you must get with all these people writing you." reality? i spend most of my time deleting spam from my inbox. :p
anyway, thank you to J & I for sending me the lovely items in ye olde aiyah po box. i can never bring myself to use the term "fan mail" because it sounds absolutely ludicrous but i sincerely appreciate both of your thoughtfulness.

i wanted to show you all these presents i got from mileena when i saw her over dim sum. the packaging is from lush and being so chinese, i can't bring myself to tear that damn package open yet. it's absolutely gorgeous! and i got a tetran in one of my fave colors...orange! he's going to keep my iPod earbuds from getting all tangly in my bag.

i'm sorry, i need to make a public service announcement here. thanks to everyone who got me all those wonderful items from my amazon wishlist for my bday. however, this one has gone missing and i didn't receive it yet. i'm wondering if it's lost in the mail or if there's a problem in shipping? since i don't know who got me this, i can't ask that person. if you're the generous gift giver of this polaroid book (love it!), can you please check to see if they said it was delivered? i certainly don't have it and am dying to look at it!
